Tai Chi and Qigong --what's the difference?

Both Tai Chi and Qigong have shown to have health benefits. The difference is mainly in their origin. The slow and fluid movements of Tai Chi develop concentration and balance and harmonizes the mind and body. Tai Chi has been shown to slow aging, boost immune function, reduce depression, anxiety & mood disturbance, burn calories, provide cardiovascular benefit, and improve balance & coordination.

Qigong is part of traditional Chinese medicine. The name comes from Qi, meaning energy and gong, meaning work or cultivation. Qigong is used to increase personal energy, for self healing and preventative purposes.
